Rules & Code of Conduct

Every parent, guardian, school and contestant taking part in Media Kidz agrees to the rules below. They're reproduced in full from the official documents — read them together with your child before the season starts, and download a copy for your records.

The management of Legal Kids Reality Show reserves the right to update these documents when deemed fit.

    Participants, contestants, parents and guardians should abstain from teasing and insulting each other or any member of the production team or management staff.

  2. 2

    Fighting's, violence, abusive behaviour, racism conducts, assaults and the use of vulgar language is prohibited in and around the production premises and during productions.

  3. 3

    Use of knives, weapons and guns are strictly prohibited in and around the production premises and during productions.

  4. 4

    Littering, spitting, chewing gums and keeping your designated areas unclean is strictly not accepted.

  5. 5

    Misuse of the wash rooms, washing basins and waste bins are not accepted.

  6. 6

    Stealing and conniving to steal is prohibited during all activities, events and productions.

  7. 7

    All forms of noise making (playing music, talking, phone calls, watching motion pictures and animations with loud sound) are not allowed on the premises during all live and recorded productions.

  8. 8

    All participants or contestants, parents and guardians should comply with the instructions and directions of the producers, directors and authorised members of staff at all times.

  9. 9

    All participants or contestants, parents, guardians, friends and families are required to stay always in their designated areas unless otherwise instructed by an authorised member of staff.

    All participants or contestants, parents and guardians should note that our official group social media platforms are not for private posts, promotions, advertisements, marketing or sharing of private information.

  11. 11

    Bickering, gossips, arguments, fighting, romance, nudeness, indecent post and unlawful social behaviours are not allowed on our official social media platforms.

    All participants or contestants should be tidy and well-dressed at all times for all productions.

  13. 13

    Live and recorded production requires that all participants or contestants comport and adhere to production protocols and directions from the producer/s at all times.

  14. 14

    Participants or contestants are not allowed the following in and around our production premises: loitering, hawking, ganging, smoking and drinking of alcoholic drinks.

  15. 15

    Conducting and conniving with any unlawful and indecent behaviour in and around production premises is strictly prohibited.

  16. 16

    All parents and guardians are not allowed to grant access to their children to play and post games, mimes etc. on the official contestant social media platforms.

  17. 17

    All parents and guardians are required to keep the washrooms and general areas clean at all times.

  18. 18

    Parents and guardians should note that Legal Kids Reality Show contents are for the management of Legal Kids Reality Show. However, they are allowed to edit their ward's video for soliciting of votes.

    All parents and guardians should note that the official contestant social media platform/s will cease to function immediately after the grand finale of the show. This means all access will be denied.

  20. 20

    All parents and guardians should note that they have no right to the results and data of contestants that are not their wards. All parents and guardians are not allowed to make noise or conduct any form of disturbance when a contestant is performing. All cheering can be done after the judges' remarks. This will be explained further by the producer or an authorised member of staff.

    All parents and guardians should ensure that your children comply with the code of conduct and the participating rules of the show.

    All parents and guardians should ensure that your children comport themselves at all times during the productions of the Legal Kids Reality Show and its ancillary productions.

    Due to the nature of this live show, toddlers and babies' cry will distract and disrupt the productions. Therefore, we admonish all parents not to attend the show with babies and toddlers.

  4. 4

    All parents, participants, contestants, friends and families are advised not to leave their belongings and properties unattended.

  5. 5

    Users of any of our official social media platforms are required to comply with the rules and regulations of engaging on the platform.

  6. 6

    All participants, contestants, parents, guardians, friends and families are required to stay always in their designated areas unless otherwise instructed by an authorised member of staff.

  7. 7

    All participants or contestants, parents and guardians should note that all our official social media platforms are not for private post, bickering, gossips, arguments, fighting, personal marketing and promotions etc.

  8. 8

    Legal Kids Reality Show management is not responsible for lost items or damaged properties.

  9. 9

    All participants should report at least an hour and a half before the commencement of the show.

  10. 10

    All parents and guardians are responsible to ensure their children research, study and practice their tasks before contesting.

  11. 11

    All parents and guardians are required to comply with all regulations posted on our official social media platforms for effective and efficient work coordination.

  12. 12

    The registration/administration fee is non-refundable. All voting monies are not refundable or transferable.

  13. 13

    All parents and guardians are not allowed to argue, insult, use vulgar, abusive, racist language on any of our official social media platforms.

  14. 14

    All parents and guardians should channel all complaints to the appropriate provided contact details indicated by the management.

  15. 15

    All persons who damage any of our property will be solely responsible to reinstate or repair them with immediate effect.

  16. 16

    All participants, contestants, parents, guardians, friends and families who are found misbehaving or involved in any form of misconduct will be handed over to the disciplinary committee for the appropriate deserved action.

    The 1st, 2nd and 3rd winning positions of the Legal Kids Pro1 and Pro2 competition will be determined by the total results of the judges' marks (40%) and public votes (60%) on the grand finale.

    All parents and guardians should note that voting portals such as the APP, WEB and USSD adopted by the management of Legal Kids Reality Show are managed and controlled by third party IT entities and their operational rules and regulations apply accordingly. Per the event where there are issues beyond our control we will do all we can to get them resolved as soon as possible.

    All extra activities for the development and entertainment of the contestants may incur travelling and other expenses. This will be determined by the management when applicable and communicated in advance.

    All parents and guardians should note that Legal Kids management works in partnership with third party media houses for the TV broadcast of the show. Per the event where we face production issues, delays in telecast, or encounter technical challenges from the third party entity, Legal Kids management will do all they can to ensure that the third party restores the telecast as soon as possible. Per the event where the allocated TV airtime is consumed and the show is not ended, the show will continue on our social media streams.

    All parents and guardians should note that per the event where we are informed by the third party TV station that they cannot broadcast the live program because of their superior content regulations, we will arrange for the telecast at the earliest time possible.

    All parents and guardians should note that the management of Legal Kids will do all they can to ensure that those in charge of the voting and payment platforms resolve all voting issues on the platform as soon as possible.

    All parents and guardians should note that the voting and payment platform is managed by a third party company of which we do not have ultimate control. However, per the event of any issue, the management of Legal Kids will do all they can to ensure that they resolve the issue as soon as possible.

    All parents and guardians should note that they are not allowed to interact with the wards of other parents or guardians unless authorised by the parent or the guardian.

    All parents and guardians should note that we will not supply food and drinks as well as water, for health and related reasons.

    All parents and guardians should note that all official information requested on the allocated or provided contestants' social media platform needs prompt action within the timelines provided by the administrators of the platform. Late responses may dismiss the contestant from that particular contest. Failure to respond may dismiss the contestant from 2 episodes.

    All parents and guardians should note that they are allowed to engage chaperones, trainers or coaches to assist in the preparation of their wards for their performances.

    All parents and guardians should note that during the show they might be called upon to endorse the program when applicable.

    All parents and guardians should note that there might be official home and school visits with prior notice for contestants who qualify for the finals.

    All parents and guardians should ensure to comply with the producers' and director's instructions during the production of the show.

    All parents and guardians should note that there might be short meetings after some shows when applicable.

    All parents and guardians should note that a reality show is full of emotional challenges because of its competitive nature. We therefore admonish all parents and guardians to educate and prepare your wards for such moments, especially during eviction moments.

    All parents and guardians should note that the names and their spellings provided for contestants from the onset cannot be modified throughout the show.

    All parents and guardians are advised to keep records of their voting for reference when applicable.

    All parents and guardians should note that further applicable rules and regulations will be posted on the official contestant WhatsApp group page as and when applicable.

    All participants or contestants are required to comply with the weekly instructions concerning uniform and costumes for the contest and diary productions.

    During the contest, all participants or contestants should adhere to production processes at all times.

  3. 3

    All participants or contestants must ensure to be consistently active on all provided social media platforms for daily information and updates.

  4. 4

    Participants or contestants should note that the awarding marks will comprise of 40% marks from judges' score and 60% from public votes.

  5. 5

    Participants or contestants will be given access to monitor their results on our partners' voting portals when applicable and at scheduled times provided by the management of Legal Kids Reality Show.

    All participants or contestants should report at least an hour and a half before the commencement of each contest.

  7. 7

    Participants or contestants who are late for their session/s will miss the opportunity to compete on the day.

  8. 8

    Participants or contestants who miss their session/s on two occasions will be excluded from the competition.

    Participants or contestants found cheating will be excluded from the competition with immediate effect.

    Participants or contestants should note that once your performing time is up and the judges conclude their remarks, you will have to exit the stage unless otherwise instructed. Notwithstanding, the producers will direct such processes.

    All participants or contestants are required to participate in all diary show productions designed to enhance the creative standards and personal development of contestants.

    All participants or contestants should note that they will be competing in these categories: News Anchoring, Marketing/Advertising, TV/Radio Show Hosting, Public Speaking, Event Compere, Radio Show Hosting, Media Press Conference, Multimedia Intellectual Forums, Favourite Celebrity, Producing & Directing, Journalism, Reporting, Media Project Management, Multimedia Debate, Panel Discussion, and AI Challenge.

    All participants or contestants should note that the order of the contest will be determined by the management of Legal Kids Reality Show on the official contestant social media platform.

  14. 14

    All participants or contestants should note that the headline/s for research of a category will be provided prior to the contest date on the official contestant social media platform.

  15. 15

    All participants or contestants will be allowed to choose their preferred topic out of a list of topics for their performances during selected weeks.

  16. 16

    All contestants should note that 20 to 28 contestants will contest at the finals.

  17. 17

    All participants should note that Legal Kids Pro1 is for ages between 8 to 11 years and Legal Kids Pro2 is for ages 12 to 15 years.

    All contestants should note that the contest will proceed irrespective of broadcast challenges and failures.

    All participants or contestants are not allowed to change their ID number during the contest.

    All participants or contestants who lose their ID tag will pay for replacement.

    All participants or contestants who lose their t-shirts will pay for replacement.

    All participants or contestants should note that we are not obliged to award evictees.

    All participants or contestants should note that failure to attend LK workshops allocated in a specific month will lose 10 points of their total judges' marks for that month.

    All participants or contestants should note that the award for the best contestant for a category will solely be based on the total judges' score for that week.

    All participants or contestants should note that the show will be televised live on mainstream television and on our official social media platforms.

    All participants or contestants should note that because we use a third party broadcast platform to broadcast the show, Legal Kids management and crew are not responsible for any failure of broadcast arising from the third party's broadcast system and program schedules.

    All participants or contestants should note that in a situation where there is a failure in broadcast, Legal Kids management will ensure that the third party broadcast entity will telecast the program at the earliest possible time.

    All participants or contestants should note that voted monies are not refundable.

    All participants or contestants should note that voted monies are not transferable.

    All participants or contestants will be allocated two seats for indoor episodes where the room is restricted.

    All participants or contestants should note that once a contestant is called into the contest pre-production room, they are not allowed to go to their parents or guardians until the show is over or otherwise instructed by the producer in charge.

    All participants or contestants should note how results are calculated: to ascertain a contestant's judges percentage, take the contestant's total judges score through the month over the total judges score of all contestants, multiplied by 40%. To ascertain a contestant's vote percentage, take the contestant's total votes over the total votes of all contestants, multiplied by 60%. The two percentages are then added together for the contestant's achieved result. Example: (contestant's total judges score ÷ all contestants' total judges score) × 40% = A%. (contestant's total votes ÷ all contestants' total votes) × 60% = B%. A% + B% = contestant's achieved result.

    All participants or contestants should note that voting starts on the first day of the contest.

    All participants or contestants should note that voting for the contest can only be done via the official APP, WEB and USSD of Legal Kids Reality Show. This information will be provided by the management of Legal Kids Reality Show.
